Dr. Hema B.P. is a Biotechnologist with teaching and Research experience in Plant Biotechnology, Skills in Plant tissue culture, and In silico Drug designing. She has over twenty years of work experience, in research and academics. She has worked for more than a year at Azo Fertilizers Pvt. Ltd, in Mysuru. After completion of her Ph. D in 2005, she joined Department of Biotechnology, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering as lecturer, teaching various theory and practical subjects in the Biotechnology to undergraduate and post graduate engineering Students. Guiding undergraduate and post graduate engineering Students for their project work and Ph. D scholars. She has published more than 20 research articles in national and international journals and presented papers at various reputed conferences. Her research interest is on conservation of endangered medicinal plants by means of ex situ conservation and production of bioactive plant metabolites.

Successfully completed European Society of Evolutionary Biology‘s Outreach Program entitled “Origin of life and continuity of life”.
