Completed his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Delhi in year 1993 with specialization in Environmental Engineering. After completing Ph.D. he joined well reputed consultancy company M/s VCC Services Private Ltd., New Delhi registered with World Bank and Asian Development Bank in 1993 and was working as General Manager of Environment Division. During this period he worked with different industrial companies for carrying out EIA, Risk Assessment, ETP Design, Disaster management plan. He has completed more than 50 above mentioned consultancy projects for reputed company like NTPC, RSMML, GRASIM, EIL, ADITYA BIRLA, GPCL, GBL, HINDALCO, L&T etc. and other organizations such as UPSIDC, SIDCUL, etc.
Presently working as Professor & Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, G.B. Pant Univ., Pantnagar, Uttarakhand and he has guided 27 M.Sc. and 13 Ph.D. students of Environmental Science Department on Industrial Pollution Control, Phytoremediation, Bioadsorbent, EIA etc. and completed/inprogress 10 major (International and National) R&D projects as principal investigator.
He has vast experience of Industry and academic. His professional expertise includes Environmental Impact Assessment and Pollutant Monitoring, Industrial Pollution Control and Environmental Management Plan, Bioremediation of Industrial waste, Risk and Disaster Management Plan & Sustainable Environmental Development etc.
To his credit he has the publication of more than 70 research papers in national and International research journals, 20 book chapters and around 102 research papers presentation in national and international conferences/workshops. Presently he is Chairman– State Expert Appraisal committee of Uttarakhand for project environmental clearances and Technical expert member to Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board. He was also member of the State Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC-EIA) for Govt. of Uttar Pradesh and Technical Expert Member to Uttarakhand Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Board. Regional Representative (North Zone) Indian Association for Air Pollution Control (IAAPC), New Delhi. He has also visited abroad for his collaborative research project with UK Govt.
