Dr. S. RAVIRAJ is working as Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), JSS Science and Technology University, Mysure. He completed B.E. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Mysore in 1984 securing Third Rank, M.Tech. degree in Structural Engineering from Karnataka Regional College of Engineering, Surathkal (presently NIT,K) in 1987, and Ph.D. degree in 2009 from Kuvempu University. He worked as Design Engineer in SEMAC Consulting Engineers, Bangalore during 1987 and later joined SJCE in 1988 as Lecturer in Civil Engineering. He is actively involved in teaching, research and consultancy for more than three decades. He has guided two Ph.D. students, and is presently guiding 4 Ph.D. students. He has guided 80 M.Tech (Sturctures) students for their dissertation work. He has published 20 technical papers in International and National journals and Conferences. His areas of research include Material Technology, Fracture Mechanics of Concrete, Reliability Analysis of Structures and Finite Element Analysis.
Dr. Raviraj has delivered many technical talks in EDUSAT and E-shikshana programs of VTU, India, Continuing Education programs organised by KERS for Government officials and also at other premier institutes. He was honoured with Dakshina Kesari Best Engineer Award – 2017 by Lions club of Mysore South during September, 2017. He has visited Arizona State University, USA and Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok on technical assignments. He is member of Board of Studies and Board of Exams of many autonomous engineering colleges. He has organised many national seminars and conferences. He is a member of many professional bodies like ACCE(I), IEI, ICI, IGS, and ISTE, He was the past secretary of ACCE(I) Mysore centre and is currently the Managing Committee member of ACCE(I) Mysore centre.
