Dr. N.K. Goel is a Professor at IIT Roorkee’s Department of Hydrology and a joint faculty at its International Centre of Excellence for Dams. He served as a Scientist at the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee before joining IIT Roorkee in 1988. He holds a B. Tech. from GBPUAT, and M. Tech and Ph. D. degrees from IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee, respectively. He was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Waterloo, Canada from 2003 to 2006, and Bharat Singh Chair Professor for Water Resources from 2013 to 2017. He received the ‘Outstanding Alumnus of College of Technology’ award from GBPUA&T in 2019 for his contributions to flood estimation and forecasting. In 2023, he was awarded the Ravi Mohan Mangal Institute Chair Professor position at IIT Roorkee.
