Professor Sanjay Kumar Ghosh, has more than 37 years of teaching and research experience in the area of Remote Sensing and GIS with inter disciplinary application to Water resources planning, surface water management, irrigation practises, landuse and landcover changes and its impact on climate change, urban growth pattern and its assessment, land surface temperature, Crop and Forest Biomass Estimation, Carbon emission due crop stubble burning and forest fire, algorithm development in image processing.

He has 72 international and National research paper in high impact factor journal with nearly 800 citations overall. He has guided 21 Ph.D. theses, 9 are in progress and 70 Master’s theses and has carried out 14 research projects out of which 4 are international collaborative in nature. He has published 2 books in the area of Remote Sensing & GIS and Digital Image Processing. He is an expert panel members for many Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India Committees and has acted as expert committee member of NBA and Chairman, Expert Committee of National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and also AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), Govt. of India for more 100 institutions.
